On January 25, 2010, award-winning Chicago-based recording artist, Liz Mandeville, underwent surgery at Prentice Women’s Hospital to remove multiple large tumors from her abdominal cavity. The surgery, which lasted 7 hours, was a success. Doctors removed 900 grams of unhealthy tissue which had diverted blood supply from her internal organs. The tumors were non-cancerous and she’s now convalescing at home.
“Thank you to everybody who emailed, called, sent cards and flowers. It did my spirit a world of good to know that people were thinking of me and praying for me. Even my Agnostic friends sent prayers to the universe. I’m deeply touched.”
Liz will be recovering for another 3 or 4 weeks. Anyone who would like to send a card can send it to this address:
